08:32:18fowli just installed gamera and its not compiling things
08:32:29Araqwhy not?
08:33:13Araqdoes it compile "koch" for you?
08:33:29fowlhttps://gist.github.com/fowlmouth/01c221343108493b12a4
08:33:39fowli have to bootstrap? i thought it was ready to go
08:34:00Araqno you don't
08:34:15AraqI used "nimrod c koch" to check the resulting GCC still works
08:34:21Araqso that's why I ask
08:34:38fowlim missing math.h
08:36:02Araqso "nimrod c koch" doesn't work either? strange ...
08:36:11fowlhavent tried it yet
08:36:22fowli dont have git anything so its gonna take a minute
08:49:50Araqfowl: it's not that important, I'll fix it, for now you need to download the full distribution
08:49:53Araqbbl
08:50:27fowlok i get the same error trying to build koch

14:20:28dom96I'm pretty good. In the middle of exams currently, but have 2 weeks free until my next one.
14:21:01Trixar_zaDifficult subject or one you can study the day before?
14:22:00dom96well the thing is, the exams are sadly not spread out after the two weeks, so I have to study for all of them now. But meh, some nimrod coding can't hurt :P
14:24:18Trixar_zaI used to always study the day before. I did do notes before though, but that took about 3 hours on one day to do. Then I just go through my notes quickly the day before the exam or even the morning of it :P
14:24:48Trixar_zaMind you, it only really worked with science because that's the only subject I'm naturally good at
14:25:01Trixar_zaWell, the physics
14:25:50dom96Annoying thing is that my Biology teacher decided that she would give us a mock exam in a week during our "study day".
14:26:24Trixar_zaThat's a dick move on her part

15:28:09gradhahello dom96
15:28:15gradhanow, how many are bots?
15:28:58Trixar_zaYeah, excluding doubles and bots, that's only 28
15:29:31gradhaI'm actually a bot too, just don't tell anybody
15:30:52dom96Why would you exclude the poor NimBot :(
15:32:30gradhacobra 0.9.4 was released yesterday http://cobralang.blogspot.com.es/2013/05/cobra-0.html, would still be using that were not for the hideous mono runtime penalization
15:32:58gradhawith cobra I could only dream to build a static binary less than 50kb
15:34:09OrionPKso guys.. what do u think about allowing includes of files w/ '.' in the filename
15:35:07gradhawouldn't that have conflicts with the dot sugar syntax for invoking procs?
15:35:13OrionPKe.g. if you have a file named somemodule.specific.nim, include somemodule.specific
15:35:19OrionPKidk
15:35:35OrionPKbut currently you have to do include "somemodule.specific.nim"
15:35:51OrionPKI see these giant 2500 line long .nim modules
15:35:59OrionPKit's hard to get a feel for the flow of the program
15:36:39OrionPKbreaking modules into dot files is preferable for me
15:36:48dom96Probably more idiomatic to put it in a directory and then use: include "dir/module"
15:37:26gradhaif you have a foo.bar module and then import that, if you have a naming collision and need to use the full module name it's going to be confusing
15:37:51gradhayou would need to type foo.bar.symbol, but then what does each dot mean?
15:37:54OrionPKwell, I'm more thinking about breaking apart a single module
15:38:38gradhayou could always use the underscore instead of the dot as separator
15:38:41Araqwhich file has 2500 lines? (the compiler itself doesn't count)
15:38:43OrionPKtrue
15:38:51dom96gradha: I like Cobra's samples, we should get something like that on the nimrod website.
15:39:05Araqgradha: I updated the website, news.xml should be there now
15:39:24OrionPKAraq: I was looking at Aporia's source
15:39:59OrionPKAporia.nim is pretty large
15:40:29gradhaAraq: don't you use something like rsync or lftp to upload automatically changes without manual intervention?
15:41:52Araqgradha: indeed I don't
15:42:11Araqupdates are rare enough so that i don't bother
15:42:25dom96hrm, I agree, aporia.nim is quite large. Perhaps I should split it up into module like: toolbar.nim, tabs.nim etc. and move all the related functions/GTK events there
15:42:46Araqoh yeah aporia is a beast :P
15:42:49OrionPKyeah, just breaking it down into smaller bitsized chunks would be a lot easier to read :)
15:43:29OrionPKhave you tested it in windows 8 btw?
15:43:49AraqI ran it on windows 7
15:43:54dom96I haven't personally, I think someone else has though.
15:44:01OrionPKbasically no part of the interface works for me
15:44:17dom96compile in release mode with -d:release
15:44:23OrionPKk
15:44:23dom96That's a known bug.
15:44:40dom96And I have no idea why it occurs :P
15:44:53OrionPKha, awesome ;)
15:45:01AraqI have some theories :P
15:45:28OrionPKah yeah
15:45:33OrionPKworks much better now :D
15:45:46dom96yay, good.
15:45:58gradhaclearly debug builds are for developers
15:46:01dom96Araq: Mind sharing those? :P
15:46:01Araqsince you're at it, can you recompile in debug mode but with --stackTraces:off?
15:46:18OrionPKsure
15:46:26Araqthat should fix it too if my theory is correct
15:48:08OrionPKdont think that works
15:48:22OrionPKsame issue as w/ debug mode
15:48:44Araqinteresting

19:49:06gradhaheh, actually the picture itself could be the instructions to de-steganographize the embedded file
19:50:25f0wlyou can just RAR it up and stick it on the end of a jpg
19:50:34f0wlthen to unrar you just rename the jpg to rar and unrar it
19:55:12gradhaI wonder if flickr would react to that trimming rars
